as you can see a bertram hull has nothing in common with any trojan hull
Bertram had a lot more V ( true deep V)

Yeah...I also see a lot of difference in the general hull shape of every other Trojan International compared to the 10.8 express. The angle of my photo is a little higher, so it doesn't show the entire hull to the stern.

So this is what I have:

1. The original Trojan 10.8 Meter came out in the late 80's and only was available in the convertible. The express had not been made yet.

2. The 10.8 Meter Express was the last International model Trojan made prior to the take-over by Carver in 1993.

3. The 10.8 Meter Express was created after the merger with Bertram.

4. This model is clearly a departure from the other International models, by way of several features, including hull and skeg, exhaust, and stringers.

5. This model weighs in at 18,000 pounds dry, which is heavier than the much larger 11 meter, which tells me that the overall mold is is probably different.

6. Bertram came out with the 38 Convertible after the merger. I don't see much difference in the basic hull design of this vessel and the 10.8 Meter express. The photo I took was at a higher angle, so it does not show the line to the stern, but the V does run to the stern. Obviously, there is a 8-10" skeg that runs along the keel, which is a clear departure from the other Trojan Internationals.

Any other 10.8 Meter express guys out there???? Obviously we are far and few between.

The Bertram has a lot more ( sharper)V to it . the bert will cut thru the chop like no other , but rock you when still , I believe the 10.8 was a new one just a little late If you contact John Leeds He may have some incite. Also Kent who put together the last few Rendezvous in MD , may have some info He has one , He did tell me about some of the differences ,when we where at St. Michaels last year , But honestly I don't remember much of what he said about it . I maybe in contact with him in the next few weeks and will ask.

BTW Trojan never merged with Bertram , the connection was the were both owned by the same company ,Whitaker corp that owned several boating company's Power and sail.

That would be great...I would love to know the reason for the changes, good or bad, so I can speak intelligently on it...I haven't spoken to or heard of another 10.8 M express owner, so i'm trying to figure it out on my own.
