Tom Sawyer: It is always the same, both here and by your places. They always yell about someting. For 5-6 years ago I came home with an aircraft. She didn´t like that either. Said someting about "You already have two almost similar crafts". Maybe I should tell her the same about all the shoes she buys; they are almost similar to some of the other pairs... One day for many years ago I told her I had to go to Netherlands on work. The last day for me in that country i took a phonecall home to her and told her I have been in an American Airbase and bought me a car, a Dodge W-200. I told her the car was green of color, no rust, it had only 7200 miles on clock, but there was something wrong with the autobox. Never mind, it worked good enough to drive those kilometers home. Think it was about 2800 kilometers. I came home late in the night, and my wife was asleep. Early next morning she went outside to collect the morning newspaper, she saw the car. I have never seen a woman so early in the morning, with such a speed, running from the frontway into the house and directly to our bedroom....YELLING!! I got a very clear message: She or the car! Lets put it another way; the car was sold within a few days. And I had big plans for the car, should give it a new name:"Taliban Hunter", and used it for hunting in the fields and mountains. But no.......

Thanks Rossjo! Yes it is the Navistar edition. Spoke with another guy in Pampona, he had the same engines in his boat. Worked nice, more than enough power, and last but not least: They are really cheap in the run.rossjo wrote:Congrats!
7.3L diesels - look like V8's. Mercruiser/Navistar 444's?
I have this engine in my Excursion - love it! Just drive 2450 miles over Christmas with 6 people and a dog - 19.5mpg avg @ 70mph.

At last the snowstorm ended. Today the sun is shining from a really blue sky, and it´s nice. But it is cold, temp around minus 20 Celcius. Too cold for working on the boat today, I dont like frosen fingers. So today i will take a trip to town, to buy new coverings for the sofa and seats on deck. Something in "eggshell-colour" will be nice! And maybe I can take a trip to the workshop guys and take a cup of coffe
I spent nearly 3 hours yesterday evening shuffling snow and cleared our cars.

PK, in the states we have something we call "mad money". It means money we have put away (or hidden away) for something frivolous or self indulgent. I usually keep a moderate sum of cash hidden away from my wife for boating supplies or general indulgence! That way there is not a paper trail for her to follow to see how much you've actually spent on something. My boating supply house will actually write me fake receipts with low, low totals on them for my wife to find!
The real reason it's called " mad money" is because if she found out, boy would she be mad!!

Thanks Tim! Well, today I have been a small trip in my boat, just to collect instruments for the "new" dieselengines. I am only missing one voltmeter, so that´s a minor problem. Tomorrow I will disassemble the instrument panel onboard, and start layout for a new one. Well see, maybe I will use a piece of wood laminate, or maybe it should be done in black "starboard". Or a sheet of aluminium will do the same?

Here is the new instruments.
