Tri-cabin hull side vents

Post by Warren »

Several of the later model tri-cabins ie mid-late '80's have a series of louvered vents along their sides just below the gunnel. There are four on each side at the mid ship area to facilitate engine breathing, and one near the rear quarter on each side, which I suspect is for supplying fresh air to the fuel tank storage areas under the aft cabin berths. In addition, on each side, there are also two odd scoop shaped ( triangular is the best way to describe the ) vents located just forward of the louvered vents.
Can anyone tell me what the Triangle shaped vents are for? I have a couple of tri-cabins on my short list of potential purchases, and they both have this type of vent. I just wanted to know what they were before I make a planned site visit to each of them next week.

My experience is that is where the blowers are mounted.

you have come to the right place.
on the port side, there are two blower vents. one if for the forward head, and the second one is for the aft head.
on the starboard side, there is only one, and that is for the bilge blower.
let me know if i can be of further assistance.
