Nice, you have me motivated to get going on mine. The interior wall coverings are the last frontier in my cabin. I might also tile the head floor too... sort of looking forward to getting hauled out this year.
Panel #2 done! so far i'm really liking these! if anyone is interested there is a video on sailrite's web site http://www.sailrite.com/Installing-Remo ... Boat-Video
I choose to use cardboard instead of poly for the templates as i decided to make three large panels instead of alot of small ones.

LOL! if it makes you feel any better Todd, I only have the epoxy on the wood for now. Its been way too humid to apply the multiple varnish coats. I figured the next best thing was to install a bunch of vinyl as close to the panel as possible so i can get varnish splatter and sanding dust all over my new work!

I'm pretty sure they make a 2 part mastic specifically for tile to fiberglass. Even though its fiberglass, the head floor seems really stable to me. In theory, I guess some hull flex could cause stress cracks in the grout but I think I'm willing to give it a shot.
I got a price from lowes of $2300 for solid surface counters in galley ,head and dinette. Since my credit card is currently "melting" i decided to make everything new myself and use formica. Got the galley started, made base from exterior grade mdf signboard (what trojan originally used). I'm going to refinish the original wood trim. still need to make the trash can lid.
Got the wall veneer done. four coats of gloss varnish. i was going to finish with rubbed effect varnish but the gloss looked so good i stopped there. got the dinette and aft cabin seat bases back in. All the salon headliner is complete and installed.
i totally gutted the stateroom and will be starting it soon.

to aid in "breathing" and minimize chances of moisture, mildew, mold, etc I installed small vents in all the closed interior compartments such as under the seats, bunks and other areas.
Makes a BIG DIFFERENCE !
Todd, this is one of my favorite threads, EVER !
Imagine what I would have if I took my mechanicals and then added what you have done to the interior.......
AMAZING !

added valence , put the arch back on to verify everything still fit properly after the repairs. installed the new panel in the fridge door and as an added bonus i plugged it in and it actually got cold! made the lid for the galley trash can.

I'm self employed in a crappy economy, so basically im broke. When you cant afford to pay someone to do the work for you , you have to figure out how to do it yourself . Google has been my best friend !

Words of wisdom...if you own an old boat and don't know how to do something, ask Professor YouTube.
