Got the two exterior port flanges back in. I made a jig to help draw the frame tight to the hull. the butyl tape worked great. not sure what to use to seal the gap between the two pieces. it was done with silicone before but i dont really like using that stuff on a boat. looks like polysulfide caulk would work well but i really didnt want a white caulk joint. Any suggestions?
I wallpapered the backsplash and the wing wall next to the fridge. it was my first time ever using wall paper and actually turned out pretty good. got the new faucet hooked up and sink roughed in. the new sink is really deep. i had to adjust the drawers lower to allow clearance for the drain but it looks like it will work. varnished the wood countertop edging and started putting it on.
started making the mahogany trim for the microwave

Todd,

Do you know if that sink would fill the opening on the old counter? I've been looking for a sink replacement but haven't had any luck finding one. I don't mind enlarging the opening and thought that would give me lots of options.

Thanks
Bob

I'd LOVE to do a deeper sink ( and newer) on my 10 Meter Express. Problem is it's directly above the fridge, and extremely tight.

Had to tear off the top of the new fridge just to get it to fit under the drain!

The other option is to raise the countertop - LOL !

Todd - this project looks amazing !

Bob,
heres the sink i used, got it through home depot online.

My new counter is an exact duplicate of the old one. I'm still playing with the spacing of the drawers but i know i can make it work. I took the top "faux" drawer front and moved it to the bottom spot since it was thinner. i then lowered the sliding drawers and this gave me the space i needed for the drain.I'll post you some pics when i get a chance.
Harris, if your sink is above the fridge, this is not the sink for you. If you figure your max depth look on HD web site. i was impressed with all the choices and sizes.

Hey Todd, very nice work! I'm taking my arch off this year to replace the same type of rot. Your posts have been extremely helpful to me. Many thanks. What type of primer and paint are you using? Any specific color white? I don't know the exact color Trojan used or if it's just a standard gloss white boat paint.
Let me know and keep up the good work. :D

Mike, i used awlgrip 545 primer and awlgrip cloud white but i doubt it would match gelcoat . you will have a heck of a time even getting close with paint. if you don't have alot of holes to patch you could wet sand the gelcoat and get it looking like new.

I have found the gelcoat to be quite thick. i sanded the arch with 80grit once and 220 grit 2x using a DA sander and never went through the gelcoat . im not sure of the exact grits to use but i would feel very comfortable starting with a coarse grit and working up to a very fine grit while wet sanding to get a mirror finish .
i can't even count the number of times i sanded the entire hull while patching and fairing it. i only sanded through in one spot about 3 inches round. the thickness of the gelcoat was very impressive.

I got two coats of awlgrip on the swim platform and will hopefully get the non-skid on it tomorrow. i ended up working on the arch alittle more to get the pad for the radar looking better. had to primer it a second time. if everything looks good ill try to get the first coat of paint on it tomorrow. installed the sink for good with 4200 and have the stove in.

The new AC showed up and the Stern now looks much better!!!! Unfortunately I found out last friday that despite all of my efforts it looks like I screwed myself and will not be making my planned April launch date.
My shoulder has been bothering me since I fell while working on the boat back in September. Had a Mri on it last week and got the results on friday. Apparently I destroyed the cartilage that holds my rotator cup in place. The doctor was surprised that my shoulder has not been continually popping out of joint on a daily basis! They need to drill holes and tie the cartilage back in place. They told me It will take a minimum of 12 weeks to recover. I'm trying to put the surgery off as long as possible so I can figure out how I'm going to run my business afterwards. The Doctor said as long as I can handle the pain and its not coming out of joint I can wait until December.
So basically I need to have the boat completely finished before december if I want to launch in april! I am going to give it 110% and try to get as much done before the surgery. Worked all weekend on it and will keep it up as long as i can. Guess i'll have to see how far I can get before it starts popping out of joint.

Todd, major bummer :(

When do your engines come back? Is that the last "big" thing? It looks like you've got most of the cosmetic stuff under control. I'm sure you'll have a punch list a mile long but hopefully a lot of that stuff you can do in a the water.
