Engine alarm buzzer

Post by Sanctuary 2 »

Ok quick update. Things are going well. Got nav lights and interior light working. Alt is on and charging. Battery switch working good and 2 battery grp 31 banks. Currently have 2 bilge pumps hard wired. One on each bank. My house load has been switch from ignition switch and now comes off the output of battery isolation switch which is protected by a 25 amp fuse. (thinking about running it through a switch or breaker so when i go to both on the switch i can take the house out of the circuit,) Eventually the goal it to add a 4d for starting and house load. Battery 1 currently sits in reserve and is kept topped off with 5w solar panel.

Battery 2 is charge by alt and is on a battery tender. Engine runs good. I run it 15 min at a time. Carb stumbling at times. Running with thermostat out. Stbd elbow running warm getting a little steam on occasion. Goes away when throttle increased. I think exhaust elbow has debris in it. (thinking about putting it in an acid bath)

Now the challenge:
Does any one know what the engine alarm buzzer is for? Hooked it up wrong and was going off every time I turned on the ignition. There is a blue wire coming off it and goes to the harness. I'm not sure what it is suppose to be hooked to. The wiring diagrams I have don't show where it goes....

thanks in advannce....
We tie up to fill our batteries and check our fuel.

It does come on every time you turn on ignition as you have zero oil pressure at that point, It should go off as soon as engine started. I agree it is very annoying but a necessary evil.

As Larry said, the alarm buzzer is for low oil pressure. It should stop as soon as the engine is started and the oil builds pressure. If it doesn't stop once the engine is running you may need to replace the sender.

Ok we are getting somewhere.
Next question is how is wired in? I an follow the blue wire down to the female plug
Since I don't have the male end. I have to use the wiring diagrams but they do not show wher it goes
Thanks in advance again.
