Step bracket, latch, catch?

Post by Stripermann2 »

Okay, I have racked my brain and need help. Someone please provide me a name and part number for the bracket in this picture. It attaches to a step, which slides into another bracket mounted on a gunwale. There is one on each side. I have been to 4 different marine stores with no luck. You'd think everyone has these. :-)
I had a new teak step made and want to use new hardware. Arghhhhh!
Thanks.

Defender.com has one that is a different style, but serves the same purpose. Another choice is to have the current ones replated.

Got a link? Wanna find out what they call them... I know the ones you are talking about as they are the ones I've seen on most boats lately.
Thanks.

Thanks but that is not the bracket I'm looking for. Those are common and they don't allow the actual step to butt up flush with what you're mounting it to.
