While there may be damage to these wooden decked models, the hulls are very heavy and well built, and the use of plywood and standard stock makes it fairly straight forward to repair soft spots. Esp with the epoxies available now.
I think you'll enjoy the performance and feel of the 8100 lb hull w/ two V8's and semi displacement hull.

I totally agree. this is what made my decision to take on this boat. My other boat was an all wood Chris Craft and unfortunately the rot was to much to fix myself and to pricey to pay to fix.
I was a Marine Mechanic for 8 years so mechanical comes as second nature, however the wood repairs take me a bit longer. Like you say some Marine plywood, Epoxy and Cetol (or Varnish Yuck) are all you need
to do some wood repairs on these. I am very excited to restore this old girl.
I will measure my table later this week when i go back to the boat.
