Sweet , I bet it will fly . A few issues I can thing of be sides fitting under the hatches . I believe you will have to move the fuel filter and fuel pump and also change the motor mount brackets . Not a big deal

Also what trans do you have ? Will it take the power ?

Hi, the 351 runs great will turn up to 4,000 rpm with a 14x10 with a cup but the gallons per hour at 2800 is 11.3 GPH and I have been told by Mattsc with the same boat that his boat with a similar 350 burns around 6.0 GPH at 2800, I use the boat in Canada around Vancouver Island and gas can be around 1.85 Liter Canadian . and the f26 fuel tank is only a 60 Gallon tank so the added range will be nice too.

My previous boat had a Volvo Penta 5.7GSi (350 cubic inch) and burned 6.0 GPH at 3000 rpm, so the fuel burn numbers seem correct. What's the height of the 351 compared to the 350? The 350 is taller than the 318, but I don't know how tall the 351 is.

That's a nice looking engine, You'll have a brand new F-26. The re-power made mine a completely different boat, you'll be pleasantly suprised.

My 5.7 was really close to the deck hatch, I had to remove the "captains choice" decorative cover for it to fit under the hatch, and also added a access port where the front of the flame arrestor sits to give it a little extra clearance. That being said, I did have new engine bearing stringers installed during the re-power and I replaced the original deck the first year I had the boat ( height wise it is pretty close to original) I haven't had any issues with the borg warner 1:1 transmission. Also, you'll want to make sure that your fuel/water separator and lines from the tank can handle the fuel flow rate. The original wouldn't flow enough for the psi needed by the fuel system, and I also had to add a return line to the tank. The only other thing I had to change was the exhaust. I went from 3" to 4". Prop wise, I would start with the 14x10, which is where I'm at. One thing I did learn testing several props was that I needed to have a cup or it didn't perform well. You should be pretty close with that. The extra HP is made at higher rpm's 4000 - 5200.

Look forward to seeing how you make out with it. Good luck and enjoy the project
Matt
