Stuck Window

Post by bjanakos »

New to me F-32...

I have spent about a total of 4 hours on this boat and most of that cleaning it out and preparing for winter.

When I was there last I tried all the windows in the salon. They all slide open and closed rather easily except the one at the helm. It took quite a bit of force to get it to move.

I had a similar issues with my old boat that ended up being water ingress in the lower sill and swelled the underlying structure. I am hoping this one is not that severe. I intend to clean out the channels on my next visit, but I would like to check in to see if there is a common issue with the window slides. Search results did not turn up much.

Both of my forward windows on my 77 F32 are tight, and will not open all the way. Same condition on my friend's 74 F32. I think it may be the top actually 'settling', causing less clearance from top to bottom.

That's a lot like what was happening with my other boat. Why does it have to be THIS window?
