Fasteners

Post by boatlife »

Hi All! I'm doing some research and trying to figure out what the original fasteners on my boat would have been... 1971 Trojan 42 - I'm assuming silicon bronze or just bronze? Any help is appreciated.

probably what looks like a bronze Phillips screw is in reality a Frearson head screw. I bought bits for the after I got tired of stripping them with a Phillips.

Where screws were used, I found silicon bronze Frearson on my '69 woodie. Anywhere that used bolts other than stainless were silicon bronze such as hull structural members like stringers, keel, ribs, etc.
She was a 1969 36 ft wooden beauty with big blue 440s that we'll miss forever.
