Wow, great pictures, I have seen news reports of the Intrepid but never a good picture like that of it at dock. . I did some work down in Newport News Shipbuilding in Newport News. I actually drove under the nose of the Enterprise while it was in drydock.
Wonder what the story is behind Pier 57, Marine & Aviation, Now I understand Marine but Aviation? Maybe this is where they docked the "Bluegoose"?
I see a lot of those tugs down here. I wonder if one of them made a trip up there or is stationed up there?
Is that a big clock? Sure looks like one.
Your boat looks great. Nice and clean. Ours gets dirty this time of year due to the water being turned off at the marina. We do wash it down at the fuel dock which does help but not the same as having it at the slip.

I wish it were the same as at the pump for my car,,

here its under 150.00,, but you know how it is, the slap a name on it , like marine, and the price raises a dollar, never knew why,,

and to answer your question Reelfishin,
I think pier 57 is just a spot for heli's and boats,, I think thats why it says that,,, I just like the building its very Deco and Iove the look of it, is real New York,,
I grew up on this river and didnt discover boating until my 40's Im 48 now and really enjoy this river , it has a history and I always try to visit a different spot in the spring and summer,
The intrepid was just brought back after a couple of years of refurbishing, its great , I go there quite a bit,
theres so much to see on the Hudson. When I was a kid, the river was so dirty and the pollution level was out of control,
now some 30 years later, its clean and beautiful,we even have lots of fish now, and lots of recreational boating here,
I feel lucky to be able to be docked on the HUdson

I do believe you will always have plenty to see there. Yes , looking at the building I can see where Helicopters can land there. l love being on the water. There is always something to see.

Now is that real, A driving range in Manhatten? I am surprised all the good tu shoes would allow that. I can hear it now. Why that is horrible it is not senic. LOL Hey I can't believe the height. Great idea Wow.
We had 351's in our old Carver we had. I got to the point that I could pull them out in three hours. We did get them to running real well and decided it was not the boat for us so we sold it.
We had a hard time getting the motors to run the first time. We found out the distributers were 180 degrees out of phase. Anyway we got them going and they did do a great job. I think we still have two four barrel carborators for them. Good luck with your engines.
That is a interesting light house. I like to see pictures of light houses.

That driving range is part of Chelsea Pier - a recreational/club/restaurant/meeting place that my daughter used to work at. I used to go there and hit golf balls for free. Never took the Blue Heron down the Hudson yet, but maybe next year now that gas is getting cheaper (we paid $4.50 this summer on the Erie Canal trip). Great pictures - my wife is from Irvington, NY and I was born in Queens so we both enjoyed seeing the pictures of the piers and the TZ bridge area. Thanks!

my wife is from Argentina, so she really loves NY ,, we go there as much as we can, like I said, Ive lived here my whole life, so I know my way around pretty good,,,

That looks like a fun trip. Been to NYC so many times only to end-up looking out at the water. If I don't get to do the great loop and/or cruise the Med. before I leave this world there will be a ghost that likes to bother those who have had the chance!
