Has anyone added a gauge to the freshwater tank? On a mid cabin, even better.

Rather than drill a hole in the top of the tank, does anyone make a gauge that measures the pump output.... similar to a flowscan?

If I knew the tank was full and could see how many gallons were pumped that would be good enough for me. That way, I wouldn't have to mess with a tank fitting.

I bought a unit a few years ago for my waste tank. But haven't installed it...yet. On poly tanks, you can use the gauge unit on the outside of the tank with remote monitoring.

nice, I didn't know these existed. On the mid cabin, the "tank" is actually part of the hull and made of fiberglass.

I'll have to investigate whether the sensors will work on a non poly tank.

Wouldn't a simple "gas" gage setup work? Place sending unit in the tank, gage where ever, and wa-la!?
From what I can tell, it's a lot cheaper way to go too, at least for me, of course.

A fuel sender will rust and a water sender should be prety cheap and cheaper in the long run as it will last longer ( and you won't get rusty water ) , The type that go on the sides of the tanks are nice as you don't to drill/ cut the tank.


Some times saving money , will cost you more in the long or even short run.

I don't think I have many good options. The outside tank strip needs to go from to bottom and I don't have that access.

The sender screwed in through the top won't work either because the tank is a "V" and where I would mount it would bottom out well before the actual bottom of the tank.

I may have been right on my idea after all. Here is a web site that says their sending units can be used for water or fuel.

I have also found other sites that their systems are used for fuel, water, and even waste.

I may even look into one myself as they are not as expensive as first though, at least mot all of them.

Larry they do make multi use senders , But still should not use a "fuel sender " thats just made for fuel

heres what i installed in my f32. i opened the digflow unit and took the sensor and extended the 4 wires to the display. i mounted the flow sensor in the water line just past the pump and put the display in the galley. the meter will do more than what you or i want but it is made for water and is easy and cheap to install. it was a cheap alternative to some others i had looked at. if you want any furthur info let me know

I have used stuff from WEMA http://www.wemausa.com/ Old sender stopped working, managed to swap out for a new sender that was compatible with the gauge prev owner (or perhaps factory?) had already installed.

Tank is the original fibreglass tank in my F32.

I agrree with Captainmaniac, WEMAUSA is the way to go. I purchased the SHS model sensors and gauges for water, gray water and holding tanks. Great quality, fast shipping.
